There are hundred of tried and true formulas for skin
care using essential oils. For general skin care, these are the most common
EO's:
lavender, rose, clary sage, cypress, geranium, chamomile, rosewood, geranium
and carrot.
Remember to dilute at the rate of 20 drops of essential oil to 2 ounces of
carrier oil.
The formula that I use and that friends swear by is
Formula 1 below - it's great for everyday light moisturizing. The hazelnut
oil is quickly absorbed and not greasy or overly oily. Formula 2 is also
hazelnut-based but is a bit more complicated and is designed for the kind of
"mature skin" that appreciates serious rejuvenation. You'll find many
additional formulas and suggestions on our links
page.
Here's a hint - purchase your hazelnut carrier oil in a
specialty food market such as Central
Market or Whole Foods in
the gourmet oils section. It's food grade, so you know that what goes in the
inside of you won't harm the outside of you!
